Removal of 2 adenoids + 2 tonsils = A pathway to good health and easy breathing

If you ever had the pleasure of spending the night with Haylie, you would have quickly donned a pair of ear plugs. The volume of her snoring could not possibly be normal for a 5 year old. The loud snoring was a result from only breathing through her mouth. Mouth breathing can be a result from large adenoids or tonsils or a combination of both. In her case it was both. After an in depth discussion with her doctor (ear, nose, throat specialist) and lots of prayer, Tom and I decided that having them removed was the best option. For anyone that is going though the same thing, I highly recommend seeing a specialist, her pediatrician and family doctor both chalked up her breathing to allergies.... On march fifth Haylie bravely underwent the removal of both tonsils and adenoids. Post op, Dr. Gilbert said on a scale of 1 being the smallest 4 being the largest, her adenoids were a 4++ and her tonsils were a 3. We should see vast improvements on; quality of sleep, eating, concentration, breathing, and overall wellness..... We are so proud of Haylie, she was a super star through the whole thing. The doctor and nurse were blown away with how talkative and alert she was right after surgery. She even checked out of the hospital with a smile on her face.
