Birthday weekend at Locsha Lodge

We had a fun little "get away" for my Birthday. Last year we discovered this fantastic lodge in Powell Idaho, that's in close proximity to a few back country hot springs. I'm sure most people think we are a little crazy...actually I think they call us "hippyish" :) In all honesty that pre judgment is hindering them from experiencing an outstanding God given gift. There is nothing more relaxing then soaking in a pool of crystal clear, steaming hot water next to a babbling creek in the middle of the pristine woods all the while snow is softly falling. It's so quiet and peaceful that you can hear the woods whispering. On Saturday we had the pool with the waterfall all to our self. This is really unheard of. The few people we did see all chose the upper pools. The next day we weren't so lucky. All in all the weekend was a pleasant, relaxing weekend with my to favorite people.

Crawl Haylie

Awww this is the life!

Hot water source.

Haylie found the perfect lounging spot.

Even the dogs enjoyed a hot soak

Lucy is becoming very spoiled.

Colgate licks

I loved all the old tree roots. They make some interesting abstract photos.

They are also fun to climb.

Family photo time.

After multiple picture the log became quite slippery. As the timer counted down Tom raced and bailed onto the log, only to slide right on over and landing in the creek. The camera didn't catch him sliding but it did catch us all staring at him on the ground. I've never laughed so hard, packed wet snow and slick snow pants make for a fast ride.

Haylie said to pretend we were riding a horse

Who needs stairs when you can slide.

6 feet of snow. LOVE IT!

Grandma & Grandpa Wurtz visit to Idaho.

Tom and Tina came out for Tina's birthday and a late Christmas celebration. Of course we had a blast and as usual the time went by way to fast. Tommy (aka Tom jr.) was allowed to take us on a tour of the post falls dam, so we could get a small glimpse of what he does at work. Whoa!!!!!! My husband is one smart cookie, I could never figure out what was what. Way to go honey! You have finally landed your dream job and you excel at it. I hope you enjoy the pictures of the Post Falls dam.

Checking out the very large turbines.

Where the water comes in.
