Awhile back Haylie and I marked the 3rd - 4th of June for a mom and daughter overnight horse trip. As the dates grew closer, things started to get busier, the weather was rainy, our stress bottle was full...... it just didn't seem like our trip would happen. I didn't want to cancel just because "life" was happening and frankly I need the quiet time with God, my horse, my daughter, and nature. We had planned to pack all our camping gear on our horses and find the perfect spot to pitch our camp. To simplify things and to make sure we actually got out of town, we decided to load the camper and just ride in and out for two days. I knew it would be a blast regardless how we camped. (Secretly I was thrilled to have a soft mattress vs the cold hard ground. Getting older or wiser....call it how you want) Haylie and I quickly loaded the horses and headed for Thompson Falls Pass. Two days atop a magnificent creature, traveling through God's master piece, with my beautiful daughter was exactly what life needed. I hope the pictures give you a little since of the serenity.

Not even out of town and we blow a tire on the horse trailer. This was not the way we wanted to start our day. Thanks to my wonderful husband, he had a new tire put on in no time and we were back on the road. |
